Prevented-plant buy-up crop insurance allows farmers to buy higher crop insurance coverage in case increasingly frequent extreme weather prevents them from planting crops. “Back in January, Senators Boozman, Hoeven, and I led 16 of our colleagues in encouraging USDA to reverse course on their planned elimination of prevented-plant crop insurance buy-up coverage,” Klobuchar said. “With this week’s announcement, farmers will be able to resume buying this important coverage option.
