Providing for the defense ofour nation is one of Congress' most important responsibilities. With international instability and conflict on the rise, it is important to ensure that our men and women in uniform have what they need to keep us safe and protect our freedom. I'm pleased that this bill supports the Air Force's KC-46A Tanker program in Oklahoma, increases depot maintenance, supports facility modernization, andit prevents the closure of the Guantanamo Bay detention facility. This bill does not include a provision, that existed in previous versions, that would require women to register for military Selective Service. In September, Lankford and Senator Jim Inhofe asked Congressional conferees of the Senate and House Armed Services Committees to remove this provision. ### Print Email Tweet Next Article Previous Article 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
