In his speech, UN Secretary General Guterres said, “It is important to also recognize the attacks by Hamas did not happen in a vacuum.” Graham wrote,“I have enjoyed our working relationship over the years. However, I am completely shocked by your statement at the United Nations Security Council meeting regarding the barbaric attack by Hamas against Israel. You suggested the Hamas attack did not occur in a vacuum, indicating there might be compelling reasons for this terrorist organization to take such inhumane actions against a sovereign state.” Graham concluded, “I urge you to correct your statement now before lasting damage is done to the United Nations. Your words are comparable to someone in a prominent position during the Holocaust suggesting there are two sides to this story and you should take the Nazi view into account.
