Lummis L000571 www.lummis.senate.gov lummis https://www.lummis.senate.gov/press-releases/page/ scraper WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) released the following statement following the news that her and nearly a dozen Republican senators’ communications were being tracked by Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). “I’m absolutely appalled that the Biden administration used the FBI to spy on the private communications of Republican U.S. Senators – myself included,” said Lummis. “This was a blatant assault on our constitutional rights as elected officials and a calculated attempt to sabotage the separation of powers. Make no mistake: this authoritarian, unconstitutional surveillance and attack on the legislative branch under the Biden administration demands immediate investigation and prosecution. Those responsible must be held accountable, and we must ensure this abuse of power can never happen again.” Background: An FBI document obtained by Senate Judiciary Committee reveals the FBI targeted eight Republican senators’ personal cell phones for “tolling data” as part of its Arctic Frost investigation. One Republican member of the House of Representatives was also impacted. The Arctic Frost investigation formed the basis of Jack Smith’s elector case against President Donald Trump. The FBI targeted the following Members of Congress: Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) ### 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T19:32:54Z
