U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $4,437,159 for West Virginia through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Public Assistance grant program. Funding will assist the West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) with repairs to roadways in Hancock, Lincoln, Monongalia, and Ohio counties that were damaged as a result of storms in February 2018. I am grateful that the WV Division of Highways have received these grants. Senator Manchin said. This year, our state has withstood many weather-related disasters, which have unfortunately taken a toll on our roadways across the state. This funding will help repair and clear roadways that have been damaged by severe storms, flooding, mudslides, and landslides for safer travel. As a member of the Appropriations committee, I will continue to seek similar funding for West Virginia in the future. West Virginians know all too well the damage that flooding can bring to our communities, but we always pull our neighbors and ourselves up and move forward, Senator Capito said. As chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security, I have worked to ensure West Virginia communities and communities across America have the resources they need to recover from natural disasters. I am pleased this funding is coming to our state to repair roads that West Virginia families depend on, and I will continue to be a strong partner in future recovery efforts. Individual awards listed below: WVDOH District 2 - $1,217,795 for repairs in Lincoln County. WVDOH District 6 - $1,119,201 for repairs in Ohio County. WVDOH District 4 - $1,085,016 for repairs in Monongalia County. WVDOH District 6 - $1,015,145 for repairs in Hancock County. # # # Print Email Tweet Next Article Previous Article 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
