This funding will be awarded to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) and will support communities as they work to provide voluntary, evidence-based home visiting services to women during pregnancy and to parents with young children up to kindergarten entry. Our mothers and children need support during pregnancy and the early years of childhood. This funding will help provide that support to West Virginia mothers, families, and children through visiting services. I am pleased by this investment into our mothers here in the Mountain State and will continue to fight for funding that supports every West Virginia family, said Senator Manchin. Supporting our mothers, children, and young families in West Virginia is crucial, especially during these challenging and difficult times that we are currently facing. This funding will support our state health agencies in providing direct and specific care in the home when it's needed the most. We must continue to be responsive to the needs of West Virginians and make services accessible when logistical challenges create roadblocks. I know how important family is to the people of our state, and I will continue to advocate for accessible care on behalf of our mothers, children, infants, and families,said Senator Capito.
