Roosevelt understood that every American needed reliable electricity to succeed in the new economy, but utilities were only delivering electricity to large cities and leaving rural America behind. We are facing the same crisis today where rural broadband connectivity is concerned. Every West Virginian must have reliable and affordable broadband access to fully participate in the 21st century. This job is not yet done, with recent estimates suggesting 554,124 West Virginians still do not have access to reliable broadband. I’ve focused my efforts on ensuring broadband policies target unserved and underserved areas in rural America by accurately identifying and mapping the broadband service levels currently available to consumers. I will continue to fight to ensure every West Virginian has access to broadband connectivity.” To read the Senator Manchin’s full report, click here. ### Print Email Tweet Next Article Previous Article 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
