Today Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia donated a forklift to Five Loaves & Two Fishes. After learning about the food banks need for a forklift, Senator Manchin was instrumental in securing the forklift for the food bank. Since I learned of the urgent need from Senator Richard Ojeda at Five Loaves & Two Fishes Food Bank in McDowell County, Ive been working with Bob and Linda McKinney, local officials and businesses to help secure a forklift that will allow them to continue receiving shipments and feeding the people of this community. Weve since seen such a wonderful outpouring of support, starting with United Rentals of Beckley which allowed the Food Bank to have immediate use of a forklift that got them through such a critical time of year. A long-term solution was always the goal, and today I am so proud and grateful to announce that Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia (TMMWV) has stepped forward, in great fashion, to donate a forklift to Five Loaves & Two Fishes. I know everyone is moved and humbled by this incredible act of community giving by Toyota, and also relieved to see a permanent forklift finally here in Kimball where the need remains great, and the desire to help and serve remains strong. I would like to thank Tom Lego, Leah Curry and TMMWV for making this moment possible and especially for the individuals, families and children whose lives will be touched by this generous donation. I thank Dave Vincent and United Rentals of Beckley for stepping forward immediately to ensure that the Food Bank wasnt without a forklift over the past several weeks. And I thank Bob and Linda and everyone with Five Loaves & Two Fishes for working every day to lift up people in their greatest time of need. Its the kind of work that inspires. Its the kind of work that saves lives. And it represents who we are as West Virginians neighbors who always help each other.
