This grant has been awarded through the Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (BHWET) program, which helps fund clinical internships and field placements for various behavioral health occupations to expand the mental health and substance abuse workforce serving children, adolescents and young adults who have or are at risk of developing behavioral health disorders “As West Virginians, we value nothing more than the well-being of our children and families, and supporting them is one of my top priorities,” Senator Manchin said. “I am so glad that this funding from the Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training program will go toward providing the necessary training to the mental health and substance abuse workforce to ensure that the youth who are at risk of developing behavioral health disorders have access to the services that they need.” “This funding will provide the support needed to help youth who are susceptible to engaging in harmful behaviors and their families. I am glad to have played a part in securing this funding as a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee and look forward to positive outcomes that will result from this investment,” said Senator Capito. ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
