Today, U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) announced $1,191,631 in funding to the West Virginia Office of Maternal and Child Health Services (OMCHS) to support various programs with the goal of building better health care infrastructure in West Virginia. OMCHS programs specialize in serving the needs of women, infants, children, families, and children with special health care needs. In West Virginia, the health and well-being of our families and our children will always be one of our top priorities, Senator Manchin said. The West Virginia Office of Maternal and Child Health Services is a significant resource for women and children throughout our state. This funding will provide the organization with resources and tools to deliver critical preventive and primary health care services to families and children in need. Throughout my career in public service, I have always worked to ensure West Virginias children have access to the quality health care and services they deserve, said Senator Capito. This funding for the West Virginia Office of Maternal and Child Health Services will boost the overall health and well-being of our young people, mothers and families, and support West Virginias health care infrastructure. The funding is being awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to support state and community efforts to improve the health and well-being of all West Virginians. ### Print Email Tweet Next Article Previous Article 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
