Claire McCaskill was at Union Station Monday morning to promote breast cancer awareness. McCaskill helped unveil Ride KC’s first pink breast cancer awareness bus. The senator was diagnosed with breast cancer in February following a routine mammogram. She said she kept putting off the procedure until a colleague finally convinced her to get it done. “I’m feeling great. I am,” McCaskill said. “I had the kind of cancer that I have to take medication for a decade, but that’s not anything I’m going to complain about. I’m very lucky.” McCaskill underwent three weeks of treatment in St. Louis. She returned to work in the Senate immediately following her last treatment.
