The measure, pushed since 2015 by Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill. with bipartisan support, was incorporated into reauthorization legislation for the Federal Aviation Administration passed by Congress and signed into law earlier this month. A news release from Duckworth said the measure requires all large- and medium-sized airports to set up clean, accessible rooms in every terminal for nursing mothers. The measure also sets up a federal grant program to help pay for such renovations. Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., was among the co-sponsors. Jeff Lea, a spokesman for Lambert, said officials there are aware of the new law and will work to understand the specifics and "comply with them to provide comfortable, private spaces" for nursing mothers.
