The new bus, which is pink inside and out, supports breast cancer awareness and was unveiled as part of a special ceremony at Union Station. Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill was part of the ribbon cutting ceremony for the bus. McCaskill was diagnosed with breast cancer last February after a routine mammogram. She underwent three weeks of treatment and returned to work. "You can't ignore the need to get your mammogram," McCaskill said. "Had I not gotten my mammogram when I did, my course of treatment might have been much different." McCaskill and other survivors shared their stories at Monday's special event. The bus, which will starting running regular routes Monday, will rotate between all the counties so everyone has a chance to ride on it. KCATA says they make more than 50,000 trips every single day.
