Combined with the perspective that Hank Foley brings in terms of innovation and research, these changes represent real leadership with the vision to move the University forward, and should come with the support of leaders across Missouri to help make that happen. Now is the time for everyone in the University community to come together and support this strong leadership team. Mike Middleton has been a member of the Mizzou community for decades, graduating from the University and joining the law faculty in 1985. Before returning to Mizzous law faculty, he served in several federal positions in Washington D.C. focused on civil rights issues, including working as a trial attorney in the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, Associate General Counsel of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commissions (EEOC) trial division and then director of the St. Louis district EEOC office. According to the University, beginning in 1997 he served as the Interim Vice Provost for Minority Affairs and Faculty Development for the University of Missouri. In 1998 he accepted the position of Deputy Chancellor. Hank Foley is beginning his new job after service as Senior Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies.
