The federal grant will be used to build out a welding training facility on its Montgomery County campus in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. Senator McConnell, a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, contacted the EDA in support of Maysville Community and Technical College’s competitive federal grant application and advocated for EDA funding in the Fiscal Year 2023 government funding bill. “Today’s federal grant announcement is welcome news. I hear constantly about the challenges Kentucky employers face finding workers to fill open jobs across the Commonwealth.
