Our student veterans receiving benefits under the GI Bill have experienced disruptions to their education benefits amid the coronavirus pandemic,McSally said. This is largely due to an outdated IT system within the Department of Veterans Affairs that is unable to adapt to rapidly evolving changes to the GI Bill. As we work to combat the fallout of this virus, it is now more critical than ever that the VA modernize its system of delivering GI Bill benefits to our nation's veterans. My bill will do just that. Read full bill textHERE. Background: Senator McSally'sbillwould modernize the Veterans Benefits Administration's digital benefits platform bygiving the VA the authority totransfercertain unobligated CARES Act funds to the VBA for this purpose. The funds will update the current inflexible legacy IT system at VBA that is unable to accommodate and administer legislative changes to the GI Bill. This will ensure timely, accurate benefits processing and delivery for student veterans ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
