Security Council announced it would delay a vote on Thursday on a resolution demanding an end to Israeli settlement building in a manner that was not conducive to a two-state solution. "Once again, the United Nations could vote on a resolution without a clear purpose other than to continue to disproportionately target Israel. This resolution does nothing to further the prospects for peace in the region or for Israelis and Palestinians, it merely unfairly singles out Israel’s actions, ignoring any wrongdoing on the part of Palestinians. I have repeatedly reiterated my support for diplomatic efforts and policies that support a two-state solution negotiated directly by the two parties.
