The package includes $11 billion in one-time payments to crop farmers under the USDA’s Farmer Bridge Assistance (FBA) program. The remaining $1 billion will be utilized for commodities not included in the FBA program. “Years of drought, high input costs and trade uncertainty have created economic hardships for American farmers,” said Sen. Moran. “This package is a necessity that will help farmers weather the current uncertainty while the administration works to increase markets for farmers to sell their crops.
