The White House has confirmed to Sen. Moran that they intend to comply with the law and nominate individuals to fill the remaining open seats on the Amtrak Board of Directors who represent regions outside of the Northeast Corridor. “Amtrak trains serve over 525 stations across the country, and most of these stations are located in rural communities,” said Sen. Moran. “The members of the Amtrak Board of Directors who craft and guide Amtrak policies must represent passengers and stations from across the nation, as required by law.
