Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, today announced recent additions to her staff on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee: Grace Jang as communications director, Chris Griffin as a staff assistant, and Alexander Jackstadt as a staff assistant. In addition, Tonya Parish has been promoted to press secretary. I'm very pleased Grace, Chris, and Alex have joined us here in Washington, D.C., to strengthen our already outstanding team, Murkowski said. Alaska is key to our country's energy and resource security, and it is a great benefit to have Alaskans engaging and communicating the wide array of issues within our committee's jurisdiction. Jang is a former journalist with 17 years of both print and television news experience, including KTVA and KTUU in Anchorage. She served as press secretary, communications director, and deputy chief of staff to former Governor Bill Walker. Griffin, who joined the committee's non-designated staff in August 2018, was promoted to staff assistant on the majority staff. He graduated from Tufts University with a bachelor's degree in political science. Griffin is from Anchorage. Jackstadt joined the committee in May as an intern, and was hired to serve as a staff assistant. He graduated with honors from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a bachelor's degree in economics and was a member of the university's hockey team. Jackstadt is from Anchorage, and graduated from East Anchorage High School in 2012. Parish joined the committee in 2017 and served as press assistant and deputy press secretary before being promoted to press secretary. She graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in business marketing and a minor in psychology. She is also from Anchorage.
