Themeasures passed by the Senate through a bipartisan vote of 82-15 are the FY 2024 bills for Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies; Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies; and Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies. The bills provide funding for key programs to support our military and veterans, Alaska’s transportation infrastructure, food security, and rural development and housing projects across the state. Through the Congressionally Directed Spending process, Senator Murkowski also secured federal investments for more than 50 projects in communities across Alaska. “Today was a good step forward in the appropriations process, and each of these bills is significant for Alaskans,” Murkowski said. “From the Haines Community Safety and Training Center and a child care facility at UAF to the Northwest Arctic Borough’s Public Safety, Fire and Rescue Facilities, these measures fund critical projects that will improve the quality of life in communities across Alaska.” Following passage by the Senate, these bills are expected to be negotiated in conference with the House of Representatives.
