Murphy, a member of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, has advocated for robust investment for the U.S. Coast Guard to support service members in their mission to secure maritime borders, respond to local and national emergencies, and protect our nation's economic and environmental interests. Murphy also worked with U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) to include provisions that support the National Coast Guard Museum in New London by repealing current prohibitions that prevent federal funding from being used on engineering and design of the museum. Connecticut is the proud home of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and I've continuously advocated for support for the men and women of our Coast Guard. This bipartisan bill helps make sure they have the support they need to continue protecting our coasts and waterways.
