I'm proud to see that General Motors and Michigan UAW workers will continue to lead the next transformational shift in the automotive industry by building their first driverless car in Michigan. Automated vehicles and advanced vehicle technologies that allow cars to communicate with each other will help eliminate traffic congestion, prevent accidents and most importantly, save hundreds of thousands of lives. Today's announcement is another positive step forward for Michigan's efforts to take the automotive industry into the future.
