If any Rhode Islanders or their family members are in Israel and need emergency assistance, I am here to help,” said Senator Reed. “My office has been in contact with several Rhode Islanders who traveled to Israel recently, and we’re working to ensure they’re connected with the State Department.” Rhode Islanders with family members in Israel who need assistance can reach Senator Reed’s office at: (401) 943-3100. The State Department has established a 24/7 coordinating group to help U.S. citizens or their family members in Israel. According to the White House, at least 14 Americans were killed during the terrorist attacks by Hamas, and there are believed to be 20 or more Americans currently missing, including some believed to have been taken hostage by Hamas.
