In 2006, Idaho State Governor James Risch signed and authorized a proclamation to memorialize the day. When a person goes missing or is wanted, they go into the National Crime Information Center's System, so if they are found in another state, an officer can run that person's name or date of birth and he or she would appear. Lieutenant Eric Anderson, Pocatello Police Department said, "Police agencies throughout the country have missing person cases that they deal with and actively work. And if anybody in the public has information, we encourage them to call us or call any other agency to report that information." Two notable cases are Kimberly Vialpando of Bannock County and Amber Hoopes from Bonneville County. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
