When asked whether he thought the U.S. Senate will be able to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court, Senator Risch said: I have every confidence that we'll get this done. I think [Democrats] forget that when the election is over, there's still a couple months left, whatever happens in the election. If they throw the president out and every senator that's up out, there's still going to be votes after the election. That doesn't stop things from going on after the election. They can continue to spar at this, but like I said, this is an age-old process. We know that when it comes to a vacancy in an election year, that's happened 29 times before. My friends on the other side of the aisle are beating their breasts in indignation and talking about the new ground we're plowing here. This isn't new ground at all.
