The final vote to confirm Bowman is expected in the coming days. Bowman was nominated for her experience with community banking as both a regulator and a banker, Roberts said. Her background in public service and agriculture make her uniquely qualified for this appointment. In 2015, Congress mandated that at least one seat on the Federal Reserve Board be designated for a community banking specialist. Bowman currently serves as the Kansas State Bank Commissioner, where she oversees hundreds of financial institutions in Kansas. She is also involved in her family's cattle and farm operation. Prior to moving back to Kansas in 2010 to work for Farmers & Drovers Bank, Bowman worked in Washington, D.C. for Kansas' native son, Senator Bob Dole, served as counsel on the U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and served in the Bush Administration at the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Homeland Security. | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
