Toby Crouse is an extremely intelligent and reputable attorney with an impressive record of experience, said Sen. Roberts. I have no doubt Toby's extensive courtroom and litigation experience will serve him well. I was pleased to vote for him for U.S. District Judge for the District of Kansas today, and I know he will uphold our Constitution as our Founding Fathers envisioned. Toby Crouse received his bachelor's degree from Kansas State University and graduated 15th in his class from the University of Kansas School of Law, where he served as Articles Editor on the University of Kansas Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. He served as a clerk for 10th Circuit Court Judge Mary Briscoe. Subsequently, after his clerkships, Toby transitioned to private practice at Shook, Hardy, & Bacon and later at Foulston Siefkin, LLP. Currently, as Kansas Solicitor General, he has represented Kansas in oral arguments before the Supreme Court of the United States. Toby Crouse is the first Kansas State University alumnus to be confirmed as a District Court Judge in Kansas since Judge Richard Rogers, who was confirmed during the Ford administration. This will be the third Kansas District Court confirmation for Senator Roberts in the last three years, in addition to Judge John Broomes and Judge Holly Teeter. President Trump nominated him to this position on May 21, 2020. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
