The funding will go toward constructing new rental homes for low-income Tribal families, increasing the supply of safe and affordable housing. The funding was secured through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)’s Indian Housing Block Grant Competitive Program, which provides grants to eligible Tribes to carry out projects that support affordable housing. “As housing prices continue to go up, so does the uncertainty many Nevadans feel about the possibility of owning a home,” said Senator Rosen. “I am proud to help secure millions in federal funding to build more affordable housing for Tribal communities in our state. Addressing the housing crisis in Nevada is one of our main priorities, and I will continue working at the federal level to ensure that all our communities in Nevada are given the opportunity to own a home.” Senator Rosen has been a champion for Tribal communities in Nevada, protecting their autonomy and securing federal funding for critical projects. In July, she joined Senate colleagues in protecting the rights of state and Tribal governments to regulate prediction markets. Senator Rosen also helped secure funding for wildlife conservation projects in Tribal communities. Last Congress, she helped secure over $1.3 billion in funding for housing in Tribal communities, and joined colleagues in requesting robust funding for tribal law enforcement. ### 1 2026-09-23T09:45:16Z 2026-09-23T09:46:14Z
