Mr. Talwar has been nominated to be Assistant Secretary of State for Political Military Affairs. Prior to his nomination, he has served the past four years on the National Security Staff as one of President Obama’s key Iran advisors. During the course of the exchange, Talwar validated Rubio’s belief that the Iranian regime is solely driven by its desire for sanctions relief in exchange for making no irreversible changes to its nuclear weapons program. In addition, Talwar admitted that the Iranian regime’s abysmal human rights and ongoing support for terrorism were completely ignored during the course of secret negotiations between the Obama Administration and the Iranian regime.
