LINK FDA Modifies Gay Blood Donor Rule The Food and Drug Administration announced Tuesday that it would scrap a decades-old lifetime prohibition on blood donation by gay and bisexual men but continue to ban men who have had sex with a man in the last year, saying the barrier is necessary to keep the blood supply safe, The New York Times reported. LINK ‘The Interview’ Sony Pictures Entertainment announced Tuesday a limited theatrical release of "The Interview" beginning Thursday, putting back into the theaters the comedy that prompted an international incident with North Korea, threats of violence and outrage over its cancelled release. The Palace 9 Cinemas in South Burlington will start screening the controversial film “The Interview” on New Year’s Eve. Vermont Gas Prices Some Vermonters continue to benefit from plummeting gasoline prices. According to GasBuddy.com, the lowest price in Vermont right now is $2.39 a gallon at the Troy Country Store and Butler's Family Auto in Barton. The average price in the state is $2.79 a gallon. Burlington area stations, however, are among those on the top end of the scale with prices as high as $2.99 a gallon, WCAX-TV reported. LINK Vermont Census The Census Bureau on Tuesday estimated Vermont’s population in 2014 dipped slightly to 626,562 people. Wyoming was smaller with 584,153 people. The District of Columbia grew to 658,893. Florida overcame New York as the third most populace state behind California and Texas.
