We need more honesty and less hyperbole: My view of this bill is that it's better than the status quo, but isn't as good as it could be. Some good things: Increasing the child tax credit, preserving the adoption tax credit, and stopping incentivizing companies to move overseas are all helpful. But Congress is still failing to grapple with our entitlement over-promising, and there is far too little being done to upend the DC culture of lobbyists over families.
