While only some states have protections for infant survivors, this legislation would set a federal standard for protecting vulnerable life. “The right to life is enshrined in our Declaration of Independence,” said Senator Scott. “Congress must pass this legislation so we can stay true to our American values, create a culture of life in our country, and protect our most fundamental right, the right to life itself.” The legislation is supported by Susan B. Anthony Pro-life America, Americans United for Life, the National Right to Life Committee, March for Life, the Family Research Council, Heritage Action, the Family Policy Alliance, Catholic Vote, Students for Life Action, Focus on the Family, Lifeline Children’s Services, the Abortion Survivors Network, the Faith and Freedom Coalition, Concerned Women for American Legislative Action Committee, the Christ Medicus Foundation, the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops on Pro-Life Activities, and the Christian Medical and Dental Associations.
