This resolution not only reaffirms that commitment to seniors, but it also encourages all Americans to prepare for the future by living a healthy lifestyle today.” “As Arizona’s Senator and a member of the Senate Special Committee on Aging, I have continued to work to support older Arizonans by funding critical programs for our senior community including caregiver support and community based services,” said Senator Mark Kelly. “This resolution recognizing September as Healthy Aging Month is an important step and will raise awareness about the ways Arizonans can improve their health and quality of life as they age and also promote strategies and services that can prevent chronic or serious illnesses.” Background: As ranking member of the U.S. Special Senate Committee on Aging, Senator Scott has worked on a number of bills, resolutions, and hearings on behalf of our nation’s seniors. In May, he introduced the SENIOR CARE Act to ensure working seniors with disabilities keep Medicaid coverage. In July, he introduced the Golden-preneurship Act to equip seniors with the tools they need to make their businesses thrive. Since March, he has held hearings on addressing seniors’ health care needs, fighting Alzheimer’s, building wealth at an older age, maintaining physical and mental vitality, and most recently combating frauds and scams.
