Trump at a White House ceremony where retired U.S. Army Captain Gary M. Rose was presented with the Congressional Medal of Honor. Rose, a resident of Huntsville, was cited for “conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity” in his service as an airborne medic during Operation Tailwind in September, 1970, and is credited with saving the lives of over 60 comrades under fire. “Through selfless acts of heroism, Captain Rose has embodied the highest ideals of our state, and the United States of America,” said Strange. “It was my utmost privilege to recommend Captain Rose to the President, and I am humbled to represent Alabama's men and women serving the nation in uniform who strive to live up to his example.” 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
