By issuing this rule, the Obama administration is cementing its lawless legacy of failing to consider the concerns and comments raised during the rulemaking process, in favor of pushing its ideologically driven eight-year war on coal. This rule creates a blanket national regulation that will seriously limit the availability of energy to power the lights and heat our homes in Interior Alaska and other regions across the country. I hope that my colleagues in Congress and the incoming administration can work swiftly to kill this last gasp of bureaucratic overreach. We need to reduce and modernize regulatory requirements, not create a maze of duplicative, conflicting, and industry killing regulations.
