Trump's nominee to serve as the U.S. District Court judge for the District of Alaska, in a hearing on pending judicial nominations in the Senate Judiciary Committee. I first met Josh a decade ago, Mr. Chairman, when I was Alaska's Attorney General. He was working with me as a prosecutor in the Criminal Division. I was impressed then, and continue to be impressed, with his fierce commitment to equal justice under the law, respect for all, and [his] deep understanding of Alaska's unique legal landscape,said Senator Sullivan.He has broad-based criminal litigation experience[He]has significant civil litigation experience on some of the most prominent legal issues facing Alaska. He has served as environmental counsel for the Alaska Oil & Gas Association and, most recently, as the regional solicitor general for the Department of the InteriorFinally, Josh has very strong qualifications in regard to being familiar with the numerous complex federal laws that are Alaska specific. BACKGROUND: Joshua Kindred is the regional solicitor for the Alaska Region of the U.S. Department of the Interior in Anchorage, Alaska. Before joining the Interior Department, Mr. Kindred was environmental counsel to the Alaska Oil and Gas Association and served as an Assistant District Attorney and Violent Unit Supervisor for the State of Alaska. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Kindred served as a law clerk to Chief Justice Paul DeMuniz of the Supreme Court of the State of Oregon.
