The grant, which provides funding for the sliding fee discount that makes community health centers affordable, is administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. "Montanans rely on community health centers to fill an incredible need in their communities," Tester said. "This grant will help make sure folks in Great Falls can continue getting the health care they need at a price they can afford." Tester has been relentless in his support of community health centers. Last year, he called out Congress after funding for community health centers expired, and he demanded funding be included in a bipartisan funding deal. "This is exciting news for us as it formalizes our transition from a County entity to an independent non-profit organization," said Community Health Care Center CEO Trisa Besich. "These funds support programs that ensure patients are never turned away due to inability to pay. Cascade County has been a wonderful home for the last 24 years and we look forward to growing vital health services for our community."
