Senator Toomey said: Just about every motorist from in and around Pittsburgh has experienced the misery of a Mount Washington road closure. These funds will help to stabilize the hillside and keep traffic flowing between Mount Washington, the South Side, and Duquesne Heights. I was happy to support the City of Pittsburgh's application for this grant and I thank FEMA for approving it. The City of Pittsburgh's Resilient Infrastructure: Mount Washington Mitigation Plan is centered around three critical and vulnerable hillsides on Mount Washington: Grandview Avenue, William Street, and Greenleaf Street.
