Senator Warnock is committed to ensuring Georgians can travel safely and federal workers get the pay they are owed. “Georgia’s aviation workers keep our skies safe and communities connected. With the busy holiday travel season approaching, I am committed to ensuring these workers get the pay they are owed and ensuring Georgians can travel with peace of mind. The American people and our federal workers must not be held hostage by Washington politicians’ games,” said Senator Warnock. With approximately 14,000 air traffic controllers and 61,000 Transportation Security Administration employees nationwide being forced to work without pay, the Keep America Flying Act is designed to avoid shutdown-related flight disruptions. This bipartisan bill is supported by the National Association of Air Traffic Controllers. Senator Warnock previously broke with his own party and voted for the Shutdown Fairness Act, which would have provided funding to pay excepted federal employees and certain contractors during the current, and all future, government shutdowns. This legislation failed on the Senate floor.
