The bipartisan legislation authorizes water infrastructure projects across the country to deepen ports, maintain inland waterways, upgrade dams and levees, improve irrigation systems, and help communities provide clean drinking water. Mississippians understand the economic value of inland waterways and ports, which transport American food, fuel, and other products to markets around the world, Wicker said. The bill we are sending to the President's desk will not only support our economy, but also will keep our communities safe by enhancing flood control and providing clean drinking water. The bill includes Wicker's Small and Rural Community Clean Water Technical Assistance Act, which establishes a program to support small public wastewater treatment systems in their efforts to comply with the Clean Water Act.
