Adams Releases a Statement on the Passing of Rodney Ellis | 2016-09-13 | 2016 | 2016-09 | Democrat | House | NC | Alma Adams | A000370 | adams.house.gov | legacy | CHARLOTTE— Today Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) released the following statement after learning of the passing of Rodney Ellis, former President of North Carolina Association of Educators. "I am devastated by the passing of Rodney Ellis. Rodney labored tirelessly as the former President of NCAE. He was a fierce advocate for our students and our teachers. As fellow educator, he became a friend and confidant. I have never met anyone who worked harder and who gave more than Rodney Ellis. Rodney will not only be remembered as our champion for education, but he will also be remembered as a true fighter for equality and as a dedicated and devoted family man. The love he had for his wife and children was an inspiration to us all. His loss will be felt throughout our entire state. North Carolina has lost one of her greatest leaders. My thoughts and prayers are with Rodney's family." | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
