Their courage and sacrifice have not only protected and advanced the freedoms of Americans, but peoples all around the world.“We must not forget that these men and women – who have risked their lives for their country – endure physical wounds, traumatic brain injury, or mental health illnesses such as PTS when they return home. It is our duty as a nation to ensure that our wounded warriors receive the respect and care they so rightly deserve. Let us also remember the alarming and unacceptable number of 67,000 veterans who remain homeless. “Our service members deserve our deepest gratitude for their enduring sacrifice, and I will continue to work tirelessly to support the rights of veterans and their families. As a Member of Congress since 1993, I have worked diligently to protect the interests of military personnel and help veterans when returning from the battlefield.
