Hastings (D-FL) made the following statement on FBI Director Comey’s follow-up letter to Republican Chairmen, in which Director Comey stated that the review of additional emails had "not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July" regarding Secretary Clinton: "Once again, FBI Director James Comey has made it unequivocally clear that no reasonable prosecutor would pursue charges against Hilary Clinton. "Since Director Comey announced that additional emails would be reviewed late last month, Republicans have spent every waking moment blatantly mischaracterizing the decision as proof of malicious action. This purposefully loose interpretation of the facts was spun to influence Tuesday's election, and that is shameful. "Even though today's announcement comes as no surprise to me, I strongly disapprove of the manner in which this review was publicly announced with so little information. Voters deserve facts, not hyperbole, and the decision to review additional emails without providing further details, even as ballots were being cast, should be reviewed." Congressman Alcee L.
