Ms. Phan-Gillis has been detained in China for nearly two years. This is nearly two years away from family and friends. This is nearly two years away from home—and this is simply too long. “I deeply regret that more progress has not been made towards Ms. Phan-Gillis’ release, and understand why the determination has been made to protest. I absolutely support Mr. Jeff Gillis, my constituent, in his advocacy to bring his wife home safely. “I have worked closely with the U.S. Department of State and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to monitor Ms. Phan-Gillis’ unjust detention and remain committed to securing her release. I will continue to explore all available avenues towards this end.” 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
