http://babin.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=562 Babin Opposes Funding Bill that Fails to Address Refugee Concerns 2015-12-18 2015 2015-12 Republican House TX Brian Babin B001291 babin.house.gov     legacy Washington, DC U.S. Representative Brian Babin (TX-36), who is leading the charge in Congress to stop President Obamas plans to bring in tens of thousands of Syrian refugees into the U.S., voted against the year-end government omnibus spending bill (H.R. 2029) because it failed to include much-needed provisions that he has fought so hard for to protect American citizens and stop President Obamas dangerous refugee policies. While there is one really good, but unrelated, provision in this bill the lifting of the ban on exporting crude oil it is not enough to offset thedanger to our national security, which far outweighs anything else, said Rep. Babin. Since JulyIhave been leading the effort to address the national security vulnerabilities we face in our dangerous and reckless U.N.-led refugee program. Unfortunately, this legislation fails to take the necessary steps to protect American citizens from ISIS sympathizers who have begun to infiltrate the refugee population. Whats worse is the fact that it provides a$100 million increase to the refugee resettlement program. At a time when the Presidents own DHS, DNI and FBI directors say we cannot properly screen these folks, the failure to stop this dangerous Obama Administration initiative is a huge mistake that leaves the American people vulnerable. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
