Barletta Statement on Thanksgiving 2016 | 2016-11-23 | 2016 | 2016-11 | Republican | House | PA | Lou Barletta | B001269 | barletta.house.gov | legacy | WASHINGTON – Congressman Lou Barletta (PA-11) today issued the following statement regarding Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 24, 2016: “Thanksgiving Day is more than just a big meal and perhaps a football game or two. It is a time to be grateful for our many blessings, and to remember that there are many who do not enjoy the same good fortune as others. As President Ronald Reagan once said, ‘Americans have always understood that, truly, one must give in order to receive. This should be a day of giving as well as a day of thanks.’ “We have much to be thankful for in this country. Life is not perfect, but as Americans we each have the opportunity to succeed and to help others along the way. And following a somewhat rancorous political season, let us all resolve to focus on what unites us, rather than what divides us. At this beginning of the 2016 holiday season, I wish all Pennsylvanians, and all Americans, a healthy and happy Thanksgiving.” | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
