Matt Cartwright announced that the U.S. Department of the Army has modified an existing contract with General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, Inc. The modification of the contract amounts to nearly $9.5 million for General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems. The estimated cumulative total of the contract is approximately $200 million. The modification is a Sole Source award for an additional quantity of 27,803 M795 metal parts. The M795, a 155mm high fragmentation steel body projectile, is the Marine Corps’ artillery round of choice. The M795 is only produced in Scranton, Pennsylvania and has an estimated completion date of June 30, 2014. “I am glad that the Department of the Army has requested additional components from General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems,” said Cartwright. “This modification will result in more work for our region. As a proud supporter of our military, I am pleased that northeastern Pennsylvania can continue to contribute the resources necessary to support the warfighter and ensure our national security.” General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is a business unit within the Combat Systems Group of General Dynamics, which was formed in 1952. | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
