http://chabot.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=398501 Chabot Statement on House Passage of the Highway Bill 2015-12-03 2015 2015-12 Republican House OH Steven Chabot C000266 chabot.house.gov     legacy Following passage by the House of the final version of H.R. 22, the Fixing Americas Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, Congressman Steve Chabot (R-Westwood) issued the following statement:Today, the House passed a long-term transportation bill that will help to bolster, repair and strengthen our aging transportation infrastructure without raising gas taxes. This bill is particularly important for Greater Cincinnati, because it finally establishes a framework for financing a transportation project that is critically important to the region the replacement of the Brent Spence Bridge. Specifically, the legislation creates a new grant program for large projects of national or regional significance. The Brent Spence Bridge is practically the poster child for this program, and hopefully it will provide Ohio and Kentucky with a path forward on the project. The legislation will also help Warren County by restoring federal funding for the important transportation services the County provides for elderly and disabled residents. And so, while the legislation is not perfect, it sets us on the road to a better, safer future. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
