It was an honor to witness the signing of the Abraham Accords, a truly historic milestone in Middle East peace, Smith said. Brokered by the United States, the Abraham Accords establishes formal ties between Israel and two Arab statesUnited Arab Emirates and Bahrain. The momentous pact is a credit to President Trump, his leadership teamincluding Secretary of State Mike Pompeoand the Trump Administration's ongoing efforts to bring lasting peace to the region. It is important to note, after decades of conflict, this is the first such agreement between Israel and any major Arab country since 1994, Smith said.
